Alright, this is going to be the first and last week I am in tech for two shows at the same time. I am exhausted and probably reaching the next steps of my symbiotic relationship with caffeine. We are one. Another stage management gig of a beautiful script over at Something Something Theatre - A Delicate Ship by Anna Ziegler.
And... more costumes! The House of Blue Leaves by John Guare will be playing at Live Theatre Workshop from January 4th until February 10th. It is a classic work of the American canon. Uniquely directed, tragic, and funny, this show was incredibly fun to costume as period pieces are always a blast.
Running for two more weekends - check out a show in which my hands are in all the pots. Assistant director, dramaturgical support, prop and costume coordinator, and somehow sound designer/operator (?). We'll have a talkback - moderated by myself -on the 22nd with members of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), which is sure to be really insightful.
And with the solar eclipse comes tech week...
Be sure to check out Seminar at Live Theatre Workshop, which opens with previews this Thursday (8/24) at 7:30pm and runs until September 23rd. My first foray into stage managing since high school (and dare I say I am quite good at it) and a fun, yet challenging, approach to costuming a show that takes over five days. Much thanks for my predisposition towards thrift stores.
You can buy tickets here, and I do hope you do. It's an excellent show.
